Nicholas Thomas, O.D., F.C.O.V.D.
Dr. Thomas is a fellowship-trained, board-certified Behavioral Optometrist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of binocular vision dysfunctions.
Dr. Thomas obtained his B.S. in Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences from the University of South Florida in 2003 and his Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2007. Since 2007, he has worked exclusively in the diagnosis and treatment of binocular vision anomalies. He obtained his Fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development in 2011. Dr. Thomas is the Clinical Director of Vision Therapy where he manages and treats approximately 40 patients daily with binocular vision dysfunctions.
Dr. Thomas and his team have a passion for helping their patients reach their fullest visual potential. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, children and friends, cooking out and playing various sports.
Dr. Amy Carlyle
Dr. Amy (Warren) Carlyle, started her optometric career with a one-year residency in ocular disease at Capital Eye consultants in Fairfax, VA. This intensive training program gave her the skills and comfort level to manage a wide variety of eye diseases. She then worked in primary care and chose to specialize as a certified Low Vision Examiner by the Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI). In addition to onsite training at Virginia Vision Therapy Center, Dr. Carlyle has completed an intense education program in Vision Therapy and Vision Dysfunction given by the Optometric Extension Program. She enjoys working with children 6 months and up and is a participant in screening programs for Infants and Special Olympics participants. Outside of optometry, she has been a children and youth volunteer in her church and local public schools for many years. She is a fan of outdoor recreation and met her love of a husband playing on a co-ed softball team. God has given them four wonderful young children, and a few dogs so they have no problem staying active! A native of the New Jersey Shore and a beach bum at heart, Dr. Carlyle is blessed to have had the opportunity to work alongside phenomenal eye care physicians up and down the East Coast. She is now excited to share her skills at Walesby Vision Center in the sunny Gulf Coast of Florida.
